Asian   -   Far Eastern Rutabagas   adapted from super foods cookbook

  • 2 Pounds Rutabaga
  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoons Canola Oil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- finely chopped
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1/4 Cup Scallion -- thinly sliced
Directions peel the rutabagas and cut into half inch chunks. place in 3 quart saucepan and cover with cold water. cook over medium heat 20-25 minutes until tender. drain. return to pan. stir over medium heat until all excess moisture evaporates about 2 minutes. In large frying pan, combine remaining ingredients except scallions heat 4 minutes. add rutabagas, cook 2 minutes. sprinkle with scallions and serve.
