Aztec   -   Mazatles   adapted from The Aztec Way by Sonja Atkinson

Ingredients
  • 1 Pound Beef -- Cubed
  • 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 1 Clove Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Medium Bell Pepper -- Chopped
  • 3 Stalks Celery -- Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1/4 Cup Molasses
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Thyme
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cilantro
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 12 Large Flour Tortilla
Directions Saute meat, onion, garlic, pepper and celery in oil unti meat is well browned. Add broth, molasses and spices. Simmer for 20 minutes. Spread some of the meat mixture onto a tortilla. Roll up and eat.
