British   -   Egerduse (Sweet And Sour Fish)   adapted from De Bors Hede Boke of Cookry

  • 1/2 Cup Red Wine
  • 1/2 Cup Red Wine Vinegar
  • 1/2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Large Onion -- Chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Clove
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Mace
  • 2 Pounds Fish Fillet -- Salmon, Or Tuna
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
Directions Combine wine, vinegar, sugar, onions and spices in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes. Cut fish into portions. Saute fish until done, about 4 minutes per side. Serve sauce over the fish.
