Burmese   -   Clear Shrimp Lime Soup   adapted from Recipes From The Golden Land The Burmese Kitchen by Marks

  • 4 Cups Water
  • 12 Jumbo Shrimp -- peeled
  • 2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Lime Juice
  • 2 Teaspoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 Small Onion -- coarsely chopped
  • 1 Slice Fresh Ginger Root -- finely chopped
  • 1 Medium Jalapeno -- sliced
  • 1 Medium Scallion -- sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro -- chopped
Directions Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan, Add shrimp and fish sauce and simmer for 5 minutes. In a serving bowl, place remaining ingredients, pour hot water and shrimp over and serve.
