Chinese   -   Spicy Pork Slices (China)   adapted from ethnic cuisine

Ingredients
  • 1 Pound Pork
  • 2 Tablespoons Miso
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Dry Sherry
  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger Root -- chopped
  • 1 Piece Star Anise
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 2 Cups Hot Water
  • Scallions -- garnish
  • Cilantro -- garnish
Directions 1. Rub miso all over pork, allow to stand 3 hours.
2. In medium saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to boil. add pork, simmer, uncovered 1 1/2 hours.
3. Remove pork from pot, continue to simmer sauce until reduced by half.
4. Cut pork into thin slices. Pour sauce over,
5. Garnish.
