Danish - Cherry Cake

Ingredients
|
- 3 Tablespoons Soft Butter
- 2/3 Cup Sugar
- 2 Medium Egg Yolks
- 1 1/4 Cups Flour
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 2 1/2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 Medium Egg White
- 1 1/2 Cups Black Cherries -- pitted

Directions

Cream together the butter and sugar. Beat in the egg yolks. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda together. Add flour alternately with the milk to the creamed mixture. Add vanilla. Beat egg whites stiff and fold in. Place cherries in buttered spring form pan. Pour batter over. Swish the batter with a fork to distribute the cherries. Bake for 35 minutes in a 375 degree oven.
