Danish   -   Sour Cream Waffles   adapted from Wonderful, Wonderful Danish Cooking by Jensen

  • 1/4 Cup Butter
  • 1 Cup Flour -- sifted
  • 2 Tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1 Teaspoon Ground Cardamom
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large Eggs -- separated
  • 1 Cup Sour Cream
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
Directions Sift together dry ingredients. Beat egg yolks until fluffy. Melt butter and eggs slowly. Add sour cream and buttermilk, beat until well blended. Add to dry ingredients, mix until smooth. Beat egg whites util stiff. Fold in. Place in waffle maker and cook.
Serves 6
