European   -   Leeky Dish From Vaud (Rumania)   adapted from central european cooking

  • 4 Large Potato -- peeled and cubed
  • 4 Large Leek -- chopped
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1 Tablespoon Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Thyme
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 4 Slices Bacon
Directions layer potatoes and leeks in dutch oven. add beef broth, cover, simmer for 45 minutes. add everything but bacon. in another pan fry bacon until crisp. crumble over the top of the potatoes and allow to simmer for 10 more minutes. serve.
