Ingredients
  • 5 Slices Bacon -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 1 Large Leek -- Chopped
  • 1 Can Tomatoes -- Chopped
  • 2 Large Carrot -- Chopped
  • 1 Medium Kohlrabi -- Chopped
  • 1 Medium Zucchini -- Sliced
  • 1/2 Cup French-Style Green Beans
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 3 Quarts Chicken Broth
  • 1/2 Cup Peas
  • 1/2 Cup Noodles -- Or Rice
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley -- Chopped
  • Parmesan Cheese -- To Taste
Directions Saute 4 slices of bacon in oil with one and white part of leek. Add chopped vegetables except peas. Pour in chicken broth, season and cook 30 minutes. Add peas and noodles and cook until noodles are soft (or add rice when peas are soft). Fry last slice of bacon until chrisp, crumble and add with grated garlic. Add parlsey and cook additional 20 minutes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. Serve.
