Finnish   -   Finnish Simmered Lamb (Suomalainen Lammasmuhennos)   adapted from The Finnish Cookbook by Beatrice A Ojakangas

  • 3 Pounds Lamb Shoulder -- Cubed
  • 4 Medium Potato -- Cubed
  • 3 Medium Carrot -- Cubed
  • 2 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 2 Teaspoons Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Allspice
Directions Layer in the meat into a large pot. Top with potatoes, carrots and onions. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Add broth, parsley and allspice. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Serve.
