Ingredients
  • 4 Medium Beets -- Grated
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 4 Tablespoons Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Vinegar
  • 1 Small Red Cabbage -- Shredded
  • 1 Medium Bay Leaf
  • 1 Clove Garlic -- Chopped
  • 2 Medium Carrot -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 8 Cups Beef Broth
  • 1/2 Pound Polish Sausage Links -- Sliced
  • Sour Cream
  • Lemon Wedges
Directions Brown beets in butter for 5 minutes. Add salt, flour and vinegar. Mix well. Add cabbage, bay leaf, garlic, carrots, sugar and meat broth. Simmer for 1 hour. Add polish sausage and simmer for 10 more minutes. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a lemon wedge.
