Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Lima Beans -- Cooked
  • 1 Cup Red Beans -- Cooked
  • 2 Quarts Chicken Stock
  • 1 Medium Bay Leaf
  • 1 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1 Teaspoon Sage
  • 1 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/4 Cup Barley
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 1 Large Onion -- Chopped
  • 2 Medium Carrot -- Chopped
  • 2 Stalks Celery -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Pound French-Style Green Beans
  • 1 Can Tomatoes -- Chopped
  • 1 Cup Red Wine
  • 1 Can Tomato Paste
  • 2 Tablespoons Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Hot Sauce
  • 4 Tablespoons Red Wine Vinegar
Directions Combine stock, all herbs, bay leaf, barley and garlic. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Add onion, carrots, celery and green beans. Simmer for 15 minutes. Add all beans, tomatoes, red wine, tomato paste, peanut butter, honey and hot sauce. Simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in vinegar and serve.
