French   -   Chicken Saute With Paprika Sauce   adapted from unknown

  • 3 Pounds Chicken
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste
  • 5 Teaspoons Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Onion -- chopped
  • 1 28 Oz Can Stewed Tomatoes
  • 2/3 Cup Heavy Cream
Directions Season chicken lightly on all sides with salt, pepper and 2 teaspoons of paprika. In skillet heat the oil and the butter. Add chicken, and brown on all sides. Transfer to plate, saute the onion until tender, add tomatoes, 1 tsp of paprika, cook for 1 minute. Return chicken to pan, cover and simmer for 15 minutes. Skilm fat from skillet, then add cream and remaining paprika, bring to boil, and simmer until sauce is reduced to 1 1/2 cups.
