Ingredients
  • 2 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Large Onion -- Chopped
  • 2 Medium Green Bell Pepper -- Chopped
  • 1 Stalk Celery -- Chopped
  • 3 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 3 Cups Kidney Beans -- Cooked
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 2 Teaspoons Hot Sauce
  • 1 Medium Bay Leaf
  • 1 Teaspoon Savory
  • 1 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
  • 1 Pinch Cayenne
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 1 Quart Chicken Stock
  • 2 Cups Red Wine
  • 1 Can Tomato Paste
  • Sour Cream -- To Taste
  • Parsley -- For Garnish
Directions Saute onion in butter for 5 minutes. Add bell peppers and celery. Saute for 4 minutes. Add garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add beans, honey, hot sauce, bay leaf, savory, basil, cloves, cayenne, salt and pepper. Simmer for 1 minute. Add stock, wine and tomato paste. Bring to a boil and simmer for 20 minutes. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and sprinkled with parsley.
