German   -   Gefullte Garnelen (Stuffed Shrimp)   adapted from German Cooking

  • 24 Large Shrimp
  • 1/3 Cup Chicken Broth
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 1 Cup Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons Sour Cream
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Thyme
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Tarragon
  • Parsley -- Chopped
  • Lemon Wedges
Directions Curl each shrimp and secure with a toothpick. Combine broth, butter, garlic and pepper. Simmer for 6 minutes. Add onion and saute for 3 minutes. Add bread crumbs and cook for 5 minutes. Let cool, add sour cream, salt, thyme and tarragon. Stir well. Place a teaspoon of the onion mixture on top of each curled shrimp. Arrange on a baking dish. Cook in the oven for 15 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with parsley and garnish with lemon wedges. Serve.
