German   -   Poached Meatballs With Lemon Sauce   adapted from German Cooking

Ingredients
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 1/2 Cup Rye Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 2 Beef Bouillon Cubes -- crushed
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 2 Tablespoons Cold Water
Directions combine meat, bread crumbs and egg. form meatballs. bring water to boil and add bouillon, stir until cubes dissolve. drop meatball in water and simmer for 10 minutes add remaining ingredients and simmer until sauce thickens.
Serves 4
