German   -   Schneller Sauerbraten (Quick Sour Beef)   adapted from German Cooking

  • 4 Pounds Sirloin Steak -- Cubed
  • 1/2 Cup Red Wine
  • 1/4 Cup Lemon Juice
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Small Onion -- Chopped
Directions Combine wine, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Marinate beef in this mixture for 30 minutes, turning frequently. Remove beef, reserve marinade. Saute onion in oil for 5 minutes. Add beef and saute until well browned about 15 minutes. Pour marinade over beef and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with rice, potatoes or noodles.
