Greek - Chickpea Tarts

Ingredients
|
- 4 Cups Flour
- 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- 2 Teaspoons Salt
- 1 Cup Oil
- 1 Medium Egg -- beaten
- 3/4 Cup Warm Milk
- 1 Can Chickpeas
- 1 Medium Onion -- finely chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Butter
- 1 Medium Egg -- beaten
- 2 Tablespoons Parsley -- finely chopped
- Salt And Pepper -- to taste
- 1 Teaspoon Oregano
- 2 Tablespoons Kefalotiri Cheese -- or romano
- Oil -- for frying

Directions

Make the pastry by mixing flour, baking powder, salt, oil, egg and milk to form a soft dough. Roll out to 1/8 thickness and cut into 2 inch rounds. Mash chickpeas, saute the onion in butter and add to the chickpeas. Add remaining ingredients except oil. Add enough water to form a soft mixture. Add filling to each round, fold over and seal. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
