Greek   -   Psari Plaki   adapted from Mediterranean Cooking

  • 4 Medium Fish Fillets
  • 1 Lemon Lemon Juice
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste
  • 1/3 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Onion -- chopped
  • 2 Cups Tomato Sauce
  • 1/3 Cup Parsley -- chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ground Allspice -- or cinnamon
  • 1/3 Cup Sweet Red Wine
  • 1/3 Cup Bread Crumbs
Directions Sprinkle fish with lemon juice, salt and pepper. Let stand 10 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350*.
Heat oil in skillet, saute onions 5 minutes.
Add remaingin ingredients except bread crumbs. Cook covered 10 minutes. Arrange fish in oiled baking dish.
Pour sauce over fish, sprinkle with crumbs, bake uncovered 30 minutes. Bread crumbs should be a nice, toasty brown.
Serves 4
