India   -   Shrimp In Sour Cream Sauce (Jhinga Malaidaar)   adapted from From Bengal to Punjab by Smita Chandra

  • 1 Pound Shrimp
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin Seed
  • 1 Teaspoon Coriander Seed -- Ground
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 4 Tablespoons Sour Cream
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Lemon Lemon Juice
  • Cilantro -- Chopped
Directions Saute onion and garlic in oil for 5 minutes. Add cumin and saute for another 5 minutes. Add coriander, salt, and pepper. Add sour cream and water. Mix in shrimp and cook until pink. Serve over rice with lemon and cilantro.
