Indonesian   -   Sambal Lumpia (Sumatra)   adapted from The Exotic Kitchens of Indonesia by Copeland Marks

  • 1 Teaspoon Corn Oil
  • 1 Clove Garlic -- finely chopped
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ginger Root -- finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Water
Directions Heat oil in skillet, add garlic and ginger and stir fry for 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients and fry for 2 minutes. Strain sauce through sieve or cheesecloth. Discard solids and serve.
