Italian   -   Carbonade All'uso Aostano (Beef Stew)   adapted from Culinaria Italy

  • 2 Pounds Beef -- Cubed
  • Flour
  • 3 Tablespoons Butter
  • 2 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 1 Bottle Red Wine
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • Nutmeg -- To Taste
Directions Toss beef in flour and saute in butter until well browned. Add onions and saute until browned. Add wine and simmer for 2 hours. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
