Italian   -   Pignata De Pecora (Lamb Stew)   adapted from Culinaria Italy

Ingredients
  • 2 Pounds Lamb -- Cubed
  • 1 Clove Garlic -- Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Pound Ham -- Chopped
  • 1 Stalk Celery -- Chopped
  • 1 Can Tomatoes -- Chopped
  • 1 Pound Potatoes -- Cubed
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 1/2 Cup Romano Cheese -- Grated
  • 1 Large Onion -- Chopped
Directions Saute garlic and lamb in oil until browned. Add ham, celery, onions, tomatoes and potatoes. Season with salt and pepper. Add 1 cup water, cover and simmer for 1 hour. Sprinkle with cheese and serve.
