Jamaican   -   Goat Curry   adapted from The Complete Caribbean Cookbook

Ingredients
  • 2 Pounds Goat Or Lamb -- Cubed
  • 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 4 Medium Green Onion -- Chopped
  • 2 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Medium Bell Pepper -- Chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Thyme
  • 2 Tablespoons Curry Powder
  • 2 Teaspoons Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 Teaspoon Garam Masala
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Celery Seed
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 1 Cup Beef Broth
  • 1 Medium Potato -- Cubed
Directions Combine meat, onions, garlic, bell peppers, thyme, cumin, curry powder, turmeric and garam masala. Rub mixture in well. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Saute meat and marinade in oil for 10 minutes. Add celery seed, salt, pepper and broth. Simmer for 1 hour. Add potatoe and simmer for 15 more minutes. Serve with rice.
