Japanese   -   Beef Bowl   adapted from Japanese Cooking A Simple Art by Shizuo Tsuji

  • 6 Cups Cooked Rice
  • 1/2 Pound Beef -- thinly sliced
  • 1 Medium Onion -- thinly sliced
  • 3 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Dark Soy Sauce
  • 1/3 Cup Mirin
  • 2 Tablespoons Fresh Ginger Juice
Directions In large wok, heat oil, stir fry onion 5 minutes. Add beef, cook util no longer red. Add water, soy sauce, mirin and ginger juice. cook 1 minute. Serve over rice.
