Korean   -   Skewered Beef And Onions (Soegoki Sanchok)   adapted from Traditional Korean Cooking by Chung Hea Han

  • 1/2 Pound Beef -- in 2 inch strips
  • 5 Medium Scallion -- in 2 inch strips
  • 2 Tablespoons Soy Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Sesame Seeds -- toasted
  • 1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
  • 2 Teaspoons Garlic -- finely chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Ginger -- grated
  • Black Pepper -- to taste
Directions Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and marinate overnight. Thread meat on skewers alternating with scallion pieces. You may either fry in pan until done or broil in oven or over grill. Serve with rice.
