Latvian   -   Pea Soup (Latvia)   adapted from Taste of Latvia by Siri Lise Doub

  • 1 Pound Split Peas
  • 2 Pounds Pork -- Cubed
  • 1 Large Carrot -- Chopped
  • 1 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 3 Tablespoons Barley
  • 3 Medium Potatoes -- Cubed
  • 10 Cups Beef Broth
Directions Bring peas, pork, carrot, onion and barley to a boil. Simmer for 1 hour. Add potatoes and simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with rye bread.
