Middle Eastern - Date Cookies (Iraq)

Ingredients
|
- 2 Cups Flour
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 Teaspoon Cardamom
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 3/4 Cup Butter -- melted
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 3 Medium Eggs
- 1 Cup Dates -- chopped
- 1 Cup Walnuts -- chopped

Directions
|
Sift together flour, baking powder, cardamom and salt. Set aside. Mix the butter, sugar and eggs well. Then add gradually to the dry mixture until a soft dough forms. Stir in dates and walnuts. Place in heaping teaspoons onto a cookies sheet about an inch apart. Place in 350 degree oven and bake for 15 minutes. Serve.
