Ingredients
  • 1/2 Pound Chicken -- diced
  • 2 Large Onion -- chopped
  • 3 Stalks Celery -- chopped
  • 1 Cup Parsley -- chopped
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Cup Lentils
  • 1/2 Cup Chick Peas
  • 2 Pounds Tomatillos -- mashed
  • Cilantro -- to taste
  • 3 Ounces Vermicelli -- crushed
  • 3 Tablespoons Flour
  • 1 Medium Lemon -- wedged
  • 6 Cups Vegetable Broth
Directions Saute everythign down to the lentils for 15 minutes. Add broth, chick peas and lentils. Simmer for 30 minutes. Add tomatoes, cilantro, simmer 20 minutes. Add vermicelli and cook 3 minutes. Add the flour to thicken the soup, serve with lemon wedges. The texture of the soup shoudl be velvety.
