Ingredients
  • 1/2 Cup Chickpeas -- Cooked
  • 1 Pound Lamb -- Cubed
  • 1 Teaspoon Turmeric
  • 1 Pinch Saffron
  • 1 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/4 Teaspoon Ginger
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 3 Stalks Celery -- Chopped
  • 2 Medium Onion -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Parsley -- Chopped
  • 2 Cans Tomatoes -- Chopped
  • Salt -- To Taste
  • 1 Cup Lentils
  • 2 Medium Eggs -- Beaten
  • 1 Lemon Lemon Juice
  • 1 Quart Chicken Broth
Directions Saute lamb, turmeric, saffron, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, celery, onions, and parsley in butter for 5 minutes. Add tomatoes and salt, simmer for 15 minutes. Add lentils and broth, simmer for 30 minutes. Add chickpeas, simmer for 5 minutes. Beat eggs with lemon juice. Remove soup from heat, stir in egg/lemon mixture and serve.
