Portugese   -   Tavira Tuna Steaks   adapted from Food of Spain and Portugal

  • 3 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Cup Cilantro Or Mint -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 4 Large Tuna Steak
  • 1/2 Cup Dry White Wine
  • 1 Lemon Lemon Juice
Directions blend together the salt, half of the herbs and pepper; rub mixture on both sides of tuna steaks; place in 9x9 baking dish; take the remaining cilantro, oil, wine and lemon juice and pour over tuna; cover and marinate for 24 hours; saute tuna on skillet for about 6 minutes per side; and serve.
