Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Lentils
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 1 Large Onion -- Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • Pepper -- To Taste
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Can Tomatoes -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/2 Cup Parsley -- Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Dill -- Snipped
  • 1/2 Cup Cilantro -- Chopped
  • Rice Or Noodles -- Cooked
Directions Simmer lentils in enough water to cover for 30 minutes. Drain. Saute meat until brown. Add onions and saute for 5 minutes. Add lentils, salt, pepper, cayenne, cumin and cinnamon. Mix well. Add tomatoes, water, parsley and dill. Mix well and bring to a simmer for 30 minutes. Add cilantro and serve over rice or noodles.
