South African   -   Venison Pie (Kudu Pie)   adapted from A Taste of South Africa by Magdaleen van Wyk

  • 2 Medium Pie Crust
  • 2 Pounds Venison Or Kudu -- Cubed And Cooked
  • 4 Slices Bacon -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Apricot Chutney -- Optional
  • 2 Tablespoons Dry Red Wine
  • 1 Teaspoon Thyme
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
Directions line a pie dish with pastry, combine remaining ingredients and spoon into pie dish. cover with additional pie crust, bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
