Thai   -   Gkoon Pow Rahd Sawd Makahm Bpiak (Prawns In Sauce)   adapted from Dancing Shrimp by Kasma Loha-Unchit

  • 2 Pounds Shrimp
  • 1 Tablespoon Peanut Oil
  • 3 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Hot Sauce
  • 3 Tablespoons Tamarind Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Palm Sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Fish Sauce
  • 2 Medium Serrano Pepper -- Chopped
Directions Grill or broil prawns until just cooked. Saute garlic and cilantro in oil for 1 minute. Add hot sauce, tamarind juice, palm sugar and fish sauce. Stir well. Reduce heat and simmer until it forms a light syrup. Add prawns to sauce and warm through. Serve sprinkle with the serrano pepper.
