US Regional   -   Fried Green Tomatoes   adapted from iron pots and wooden spoons

  • 4 Large Green Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Flour
  • 2 Tablespoons Yellow Cornmeal
  • 1 Teaspoon Curzan Seasoning (St Croix)
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Poultry Seasoning
  • 1/4 Cup Peanut Oil
Directions wash tomatoes and cut into thick slices. mix remaining ingredients in a bag and heat the oil in a large heavy skillet. shake tomatoes a few a time in the bag and make sure they are coated and fry in hot oil. Turn to make sure they are fully cooked. Make sure they do not stick to the bottom. serve hot.
