US Regional   -   Meatball Stew   adapted from Native Indian Wild Game, Fish and Wild Foods by Lovesick

Ingredients
  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 1 Pound Ground Venison
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 2 Tablespoons Flour
  • 2 Cans Tomatoes
  • 1 Pound New Potatoes
  • 2 Large Carrots -- Sliced
  • 1 Teaspoon Basil
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Oregano
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
Directions combine everything down to the oil and shape into 2 inch meatballs. Heat oil and brown meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside. Add remaining ingredients to pan, allow to simme for 5 minutes. place meatballs in sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Serve.
