US Regional   -   Southwest Hot Chocolate (Arizona)   adapted from Culinaria United States

  • 1 1/2 Cups Milk -- Or Water
  • 1 1/2 Ounces Mexican Chocolate -- Chopped
  • 2 Sticks Cinnamon
  • Kahlua -- Optional
  • Whipped Cream -- Optional
Directions Bring milk, chocolate and cinnamon to a simmer. Do not allow to boil. Simmer until chocolate had melted. Pour into glasses, add kahlua and whipped cream if desired. Serve.
