Vietnamese   -   Lemon Beef   adapted from Vietnamese Cuisine by Muoi Thai Loangkote

  • 1 Tablespoon Peanut Oil
  • 1 Pound Beef -- Cubed
  • 1 Medium Egg
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 3 Cloves Garlic -- Chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Fish Sauce
  • 2 Teaspoons Cornstarch -- Mixed With
  • 2 Teaspoons Water
  • Salt And Pepper -- To Taste
  • 1 Lime Lime Juice
  • 2 Tablespoons Cilantro
  • 1 Medium Jalapeno -- Chopped
  • Cooked Rice
Directions Mix oil, egg and cornstarch together. Pour over beef and marinate for 20 minutes. Add beef and marinade to a pan. Saute until beef is well browned. Add garlic and saute for 1 minute. Add cornstarch and water mixture. Simmer for 1 minute. Add remaining ingredients except rice and saute for 3 minutes. Serve over rice.
