Vietnamese   -   Pork With Five Spice Powder (Fit Thung)   adapted from The Classic Cuisine of Vietnam by Ngo and Zimmerman

  • 2 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Medium Shallots
  • 1 Tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Fish Sauce
  • 6 Tablespoons Water
  • 2 Tablespoons Light Soy Sauce
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Five Spice Powder
  • Salt And Pepper -- to taste
  • 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1/2 Pound Pork -- sliced
Directions Combine all but oil and pork, in food processor to make a sauce.
Saute pork in oil until well browned, add sauce, cover reduce heat, simmer 30 minutes turning once.
Serves 6
