Israeli and Jewish   -   Chicken With Lima Beans & Mushrooms (Israel)   adapted from unknown

Ingredients
  • 1 Onion -- chopped
  • 1 Stick Margarine
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • 2 Pounds Lima Beans
  • 1 Small Green Pepper -- diced
  • 3 Tablespoons Water
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Salt
  • 2 Pounds Chicken
  • 1 Pound Mushroom -- sliced
  • 1 Tablespoon Fish Sauce
  • 2 Dashes Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 2 Teaspoons Curry Powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
Directions Saute onions (both), garlic, green pepper and chicken in the margarine.
Add spices and sauces and water. Simmer for 30 minutes, or until you are satisfied that the chicken is cooked. Less if you cut the chicken into bit sized pieces before cooking. Add frozen lima beans and a little more water. Cook until limas are almost done, then add mushrooms. When mushrooms look done it should be done.
Serves 4
