Israeli and Jewish   -   Sesame Bars   adapted from Taste Of Israel - Avi Ganor

  • 3 Ounces Sesame Seeds
  • 1 1/2 Cups Sugar
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1 Pinch Ground Cloves
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Lemon Juice
Directions In frying pan, fry sesame seeds until golden. No oil is required because they make their own. Dissolve sugar in water. Bring to boil, boil until sugar turns golden brown. Add seeds and remaining ingredients. Boil and stir 3 minutes. Remove to shallow cake pan, spread evenly. Allow ot harden. Cut into 24 segments and serve.
